Volvo Repair: water pump replacement, water pump replacement, carbuerator

Question
I have 1992 240 I replaced water pump now car won't start I had to remove timing belt because i droped a nut in by accident but replaced it without misaligning gears could I have done something to cause my failure I have cheched for spark and it is firing at plugs

Answer
you would need to check for fuel to the engine if there is fuel then the belt must be on wrong.you could try spraying a carbuerator cleaner into a vacuum hose and see if it tries to start on that if so then there may be no fuel to engine.if it will not start on carb. cleaner than the belt is probably wrong.in my experience 99.9% of the time if a car ran before you touched it then usually while working on the car you did something to caus it to not run.so I would search near every thing you came in contact with and look for a loos wire or connector that got knocked off if all looks ok I would recheck the timing belt.
