Volvo Repair: cruise and signal lights 1989 volvo 240, vacuum line, 1989 volvo 240

Question
I have a 1989 240 in which the cruise does not engage or work at all.  I noticed a vacuum line disconnected and connected it and it still does not work.  Any ideas?  Also, one signal light seems to blink erratically or really fast compared to the other.  What causes this to happen?  I Thank you in advance for your advice.

Answer
the cruise control could be many things from a bad brake switch for the cruise to a bad control unit for the cruise I have seen many things make the cruise not work.I would try adjusting the switch by the brake pedal that has a vacuum line attached to it.

the blinking faster may be due to a bad bulb or some type of resistance in the circuit.
