Volvo Repair: 960 oil pan, cross bar, oil pan

Question
Hello, A rock punched a small hole in my 97 960 wagon's oil pan. A new one is over $700.
#1 question is it alumium and if so can I have it welded.
#2 I've heard I might have to pull the engine to get the pan off. Do you have any idea?

yes it could be welded depends on the damage.you need to find a place that has the equipment to weld aluminum.

you do not need to pull the engine you need to suppor the engin up top with a cross bar and hook then drop the front engine cross memeber to remove the pan
