Question
I recently purchased a 2000 S70 glt se with
69000 miles. It did not have an owner's manual.
The ETS light has come on and I have noticed some
fluctuation in the throttle when driving.
Please advise what possible problems I might
be dealing with. The mass air intaqke was recently
replaced.

Answer
Hello,
The problem is regarding Electronic Throttle System.
Emission system is a combined system as inlet & exhaust. At the inlet side, there is mass air flow sensor and ETM (Electronic Throttle Module). At the exhasut side, there are two oxygen sensors. All of them work together. If one of them is affected because of one reason the other ones are affected also. They are like "brothers".Ypu wrote MAF sensor was replaced with new one, so according to the writings given above the other parts were affected. And you felt it via ETM. My recommendation is that to clean the ETM as soon as possible. After that there is one Software Upgrade for ETM, it canbe downloaded to the car at an authorised dealer (part number of the software is 30677007, it is very cheap, less than 1 USD, approx 0,5 USD)
So, get the ETM cleaned and downloaded the SW. If you drive more with this problem, it will be necessary to be replaced the ETM with new one and it will be expensive.
Regards...
