Volvo Repair: 1993 volvo 240, DTC 231, 144 (MFI LH 2.4), continuity tests, 1993 volvo 240

Question
Car is sluggish, will not idle if o2 sensor is conected (idles from 2000 rpm to 400 rpm and then eventually stalls)if I disconect o2 sensor, car idles OK. I replaced o2 sensor, did not make a difference. Code 144 is load signal absent from MFI. Checked for voltage on pin 8 of EZ 116K, with ignition key on (engine not running), had 75 mV(engine cold), book said should be approx 100 mV. Wire continuity tests OK between pin 25 of LH and pin 8 of EZ116K. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Answer
the 144 code may not be real.there are many things that can make it run poorly and give a 231 code such as throttle switch, engine temperature sensor, air mass meter.I would check the signal for each sensor in the fuel system according to the repair manual and then check the wiring harness and connectors to each sensor for corossion.
