BMW: 1992 325ic bmw, cold cranking amps, 1992 325ic bmw

Question
Josh, I just purchased this vehicle with 68,000 miles.  My question being, the electric top goes up fine and the back cover also works but it seems like the back cover has a tendency to go down to shut before the top is in the back holding area. I am aware that some do not work.  Any suggestions.  Also, I will be needing a battery for the next season and currently have the vehicle in storage(non heated)is there anything I need to know for battery replacing?  I have spoken to a battery company and they have given me the correct battery. I currently live in Minnesota. Finally, do you ever take questions by phone? Thanks, Gary

Answer
Gary,
Yes, the electric tops can be a pain.  Something is out of time in the process, which leads me to believe that maybe your top has been removed at one point.  When it was replaced it wasn't put back correctly and the hatch closes prematurely.
Since you live in a cold climate, you might want to go with a little stronger battery with higher cold-cranking-amps.  Other than that the battery is strait forward.

Unfortunately I do not take phone calls.  I wish I had time to help people that way, but working all day and taking my college classes at night takes up alot of my time.
Thanks for the question and if I can help with anything else please let me know.

 Thanks,
 Josh
