Buick/Olds: 1997 olds trans, torque converter, valve assembly

Question
I am having problems getting the vehicle to move after long periods of no-use.I had trans repaired (selector valve assy) at 30K now at 81K. I also feel vibration when trans shifts into overdrive....could this also be selector valve body? Fluid is up, what might I try to correct this probrlem?

It is possible that the valve assembly could be acting up, but it also sounds possible that your overdrive/drive lock down could be compromised. Fluid levels wouldn't detect this so I'd recommend having the lockdown checked and perhaps also the torque converter, it is a possibilty that the torque converter is not transferring power properly through the transaxle. This could be from a bad electrical connection or it could be from a bad valve setting.

All in all, I'd have the torque converter and lockdown checked right away so that no more damage is done.

By the way, you really should start and run the car periodically when it is not in use, this will save SO much. A sitting car will only cause problems....everytime.
