Buick/Olds: engine fan not running, cutless supreme, engine fan

I have a 1996 Cutless Supreme Oldsmobile 3.1.  My two front fans for the engine are both not running causing my engine to overheat.  What would cause both fans to stop and what would be the fix

I would say that your problem comes from the fan relay. The fans themselves are probably both fine. The switch/ sensor is what is probably gone bad. This is a simple, and inexpensive fix...but you will need a mechanic to do it. This is because you'll need to make sure the sensor is water tight, so not to cause any leaks.

That would be your best and most inexpensive bet. I, too have the exact same 3.1 in my 96 Grand Prix and I had to change the switch too about a year ago.
