Buick/Olds: 92 Buick blower trouble, buick lesabre, soft switch

Question
I have a 92 buick lesabre, and the problem is with the Blower.  The blower only works intermittantly, sometimes itll blow sometimes it wont blow at all( most of the time not at all). And when it does work it only works on the highest level. One thing that is pretty  consistant is that when it is working, and i turn the strength down, it cuts off completely.  Then ill turn it back to high and it wont work until a few days later when i turn on the car and itll come on with the car.  We took the actual blower out and there is current getting to it. . . always.   I checked an online forum and they had said it was the Blower relay,  but i dont know where that is and if i did i wouldnt know what to look for.  Do you think that is the problem, and if so what can i do.  If you dont think so then again what can i do.
thank you for your time.

Answer
Hey Jeff

It does sound like the blower relay, but I'm also concerned about the blower switch itself. Is it a hard switch that moves in different positions or is it a soft switch (push button with screen) that you use with auto climate control. If you want to check the relay out for yourself. It is located behind the glove compartment, if you remove the compartment, you will see it plainly. It's a box with many wires going into it. If this is your culprit, you will need to replace, these are not salvagable. You can usually pick one up 2nd hand inexpensively.

If it's the relay located on the unit, you can find it right where the wires enter the unit, on the inside. It's worth a new blower if that one is bad because you can't buy that small secondary relay.

Let me know if I can be of more help
