Cadillac: codes, throttle linkage, climate control

I have a 83 seville with 4.1. I am getting a service code 26 and 1.8.8,.  Any info on this? Thanks

Answer
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, Engine OFF.

2. push the off and warmer buttons and after the code 26 displays and you se 1.8.8

3. Look at the light above the LO button on the climate control panel and see if it is illuminated.

4. If it IS, step on the gas pedal and it should go OUT.

5. Release the gas pedal and it should come back ON.

Does it ?

If NOT the throttle linkage is NOT touching the metal rod that extends from the IDLE SPEED CONTROL MOTOR at the throttle body on the drivers side.

If the light above the LO button is OFF, have someone push the metal threaded rod on the IDLE SPEED CONTROL motor back towards the front of the car and see if the light is ON now.
