RV Repair: ignitor not lighting in travel trailer, vent pipe, rv shop

Question
The furnace is a suburban sf30. I tried starting the furnace and the ignitor doesn't seem to be coming on.I do smell propane out of the vent pipe outside. The blower comes on,but the heat isn't. Please direct me on how I can do this repair please.

Answer
Steve, This sounds like the igniter board has gone out. There is a couple of things to check before you replace it and it is where you pull off the back panel to open it up. There is a limit switch there with 2 wires connecting to it. Check that there is continuity between the posts and if so then as long as the igniter is still ok in it and you can pull the upper cover to the burner chamber to make sure it is good. If those 2 things are good then it is the board. If you pull out the board and take it to a rv shop they should be able to check it and see if it is bad or not. Make sure they test it at least 6 times to be sure. If it fails one time it is bad. Thanks, Bill
