Cadillac: Cadillac Emissions, number combinations, fuel mileage

Question
QUESTION: Hi, I have done some research on the internet and I have discovered that Cadillac has had some emissions problems on Cadillac. I have a 1996 Cadillac Deville, and the service emissions message is always popping up. I have followed resetting it by pressing the WARMER and OFF button and going through all the steps, but the message pops up about 10 minutes later. Is there any way to PERMANATLY turn off this message? Thanks.
ANSWER: This is the procedure for getting the codes:

1. Ignition switch ON. Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on the climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.

3. On the fuel mileage screen you will see LETTER/NUMBER combinations appear with the word HISTORY or CURRENT displayed with each code.

4. Write down these codes and if they are HISTORY or CURRENT and when the display stops, turn OFF the ignition key.

5. Let me know the codes and if they are each HISTORY or CURRENT.
