Cadillac: STARTER DIABLED, last request, missing something

QUESTION: IS THERE ANYWAY TO BYPASS THAT SYSTEM? WHAT COLOR ARE THE   WIRES GO TO IT ON A 1998 DE VILLE?

QUESTION: I just bought this 1998 caddy Deville and there was no display on the cluster, for miles and the some other displays were imposible to read, and so I got another cluster, put it in and everything looked good until I tried to start it. That is when the starter disabled light and wait 3 minutes came on. So after tearing what little hair I have left out, I replaced the old cluster, and the car started. What's the deal? Am I missing something? Thanks

Either you did not get one of the wiring harnesses plugged into the newly purchased cluster or the newly purchased cluster is NOT programmed for your particular vehicle or the newly purchased cluster is faulty.

Are you gettng any check engine lights and or any messages on the display center ?. If so, What codes and what messages are you getting.
