1985 Cadillac Deville  4.1 motor...How do I clear the old error codes...I know it has something to do with the button

To clear the "E" codes: Re-enter diagnostics and when you see .7.0  Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and HI(^) buttons and when you see E.0.0 release the buttons.

To clear the "F" codes: Re-enter diagnostics and when you see .7.0  Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and LO (v) buttons and when you see F.0.0 release the buttons.

turn OFF ignition.
