I have a 99 deville the car will crank over but will not fire the display says theft system problem and car may not restart it also says service stability system do you have any idea what could be causing this and how I might fix it thank you
-----Answer-----
This requires the use of a special test box by your dealer.

Answer
Check the resistance of the key first.

second coming out at the bottom of the steering column are 2 white wires seperate from any others. Insert the key in the ignition and check to see if the resistance at the 2 white wires matches the key resistance. If NOT, Replace the wire within the steering column.

As far as bypassing, There are approx 15 to 20 possible resistor values and they do NOT publish them in the service manual. Your dealer has a special test box for this diagnostics.
