Cadillac: parking brake, seville sls, emergency brake

i pressed the parking brake the other day on my 1995 seville sls and cannot find the release... where is the parking brake release?

Answer
Loosen the black plastic under panel covering near the emergency brake and using a flashlight, look just at the bottom edge of the dash panel closest to the drivers door and you will see a small black metal pull handle.

Your problem is most likely a vacuum lose to the vacuum actuator at the emergency brake which releases the emergency brake when the car is shifted into gear.
