Question -
I just bought a 1990 Cadillac Seville and it started and drove home fine but when I went to start it later it won't do anything.  The lights all come on but it don't turn over or anything.  I had one guy look at it and he said there is no power from the ignition to the starter and I was wondering what do I need to do to fix that.  Buy a new starter or what?  PLEASE help husband comes home from Iraq in one week and this was suppose to be for him!!!!

Answer -
If you have no ignition to the starter, The starter may be perfectly OK.

Depending upon your mechanical ability and your ability to read electrical schematics and perform test procedures depends upon whether you can fix it yourself or not.

Are there any flashing lights illuminated on the dash or did you see any on your drive home ?.

Answer
It could be:

A fault in the anti-theft system.
A fault with the security system with the chip or the module for the ignition.
the ignition relay.
the neutral starter safety switch.

Your going to have to have someone who knows how to test electronic components on the vehicle in order to fix your problem as it can be any of the above said faults.
