Question
1995 sedan deville 4.9ltr question... I had a trouble code of P052 i found a site that said to disconect the negative side of the battery to fix that code so i did that now my AC trys to come on i can feel the pump start through the engine sound and it starts to blow cold air for a second at very low feeling and stops also no defog or fan only rear defrost. i cleared the P052 and it hasnt come back but now have a code of I052 how do fix this properly i,am pretty mechanically inclined but this is my first caddy.

Answer
Disconnecting the battery will NOT erase (clear) the diagnostic codes.

I052 = battery cable was disconnected and power was lost to the instrument panel cluster.

P052 = PCM (computer) keep alive memory reset.

These 2 codes were caused by disconnecting the battery. Do NOT do that again.

To CLEAR the P052 code:

1. Ignition ON. Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons for 3 seconds and then release them.

3. You will see the codes illuminate and then you will see PCM?

4. Push and release the HI button and you will see PCM DATA?

5. Continously Push and release the LO button until you see PCM CLEAR CODES?

6. Push and release the HI buttons and you will see PCM CODES CLEAR.

7. Wait 3 seconds and turn OFF the ignition key.

8. If safe to do so, Go drive the vehicle for several miles.

9. Repeat steps 1 and 2 and let me know what LETTER and NUMBER of the codes that appear EXACTLY as they are displayed on the screen in the EXACT order in which they display.

10. You will then see PCM?

11. Turn off the key and let me know what codes you get.
