Cadillac: 1998 Deville Blower Motor, electrical schematics, road vibration

Question
Hi Tom,

I have a 1998 Deville that has a blower motor problem: it blows when it wants to.  It may or may not run when the engine is started.  Changing the fan/temp/econ controls does nothing.  Turning the a/c system OFF, waiting, then turning back on has worked once or twice, but not always.  Probably a coincidence.

It quits running, then may turn itself on when it wants to.  Doesn't seem affected by road vibration or bumps.

I tried pulling and replacing the blower plug- no corrosion, and tapping the fan housing- no change.  Checking the computer, but only got a 'po463' code.

Any idea where to go?  I usually do my own repairs, have V-O-M Meter, and high skill level.

Thanks in advance

Jim

In order for me to provide you with pictures, Diagnostic procedures and electrical schematics to find and fix your problem since this board does not allow sending pictures.

PLEASE include your original question(s) and the MAKE-MODEL-YEAR and ENGINE SIZE of your vehicle when you contact me.

PLEASE tell me if you do your own repairs and or your skill level of auto repair. This is VERY VERY important if I am to be able to help you repair your own vehicle.
