Cadillac: battery or altinater, battery terminals, spark plugs

Hello,
I have a 1992 caddy deville 4.9 liter, the only repaires I have made are watr pump ,water pump pullys nad cattilitic converter.
Now I am having this problem .sometimes car will start sometimes it will not. check battery terminals ,take cable off put back on car still will not start ( all lichts radio everything works .get a jump still will not start out everything away get in car car starts or ten minutes later car starts

please HELP thank you john

Ok, when it won't start see if you are getting spark to the spark plugs and fuel to the injectors. If you have spark try spraying a little starting fluid in the engine and see if it tries to run and let me know.

Also let's check your computers for fault codes.


1. ignition ON, engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold for 3 seconds the OFF and WAREMER buttons and then release them.

3. Fault CODES should start to appear and stop.

4. Write down the codes EXACTLY as they appear in the EXACT order in which they appear and let me know what they are.

5. turn OFF ignition.
