Cadillac: 1964 cadillac deville, inch gap, cadillac deville

My car is getting fuel to the carb but will not start. The car is getting spark as well. Sometimes it seems to want to start but wont.

Now I have to show my age.

You are positive that you are getting fuel to the carb and can see it spray out of the jets when you open the throttle fast by hand ?.

The quality of the gas is good ?.

Can the spark jump a half inch gap ?.

Pull a spark plug and see if the electrode ends are covered in gas or black with carbon.
