Dear Tom,

Can you tell me if there is a way to remove the back head on a '99 4.6 Northstar without taking the engine out?

I've been told you have to drop the engine to get the head off and hoped there is another way to get to it.

The easiest way and without wishing you had, My advise is to pull the engine and be done with it. I have seen some people pull the radiator pull the front head and remove numerous components so they can slightly roll the engine forward and pull the head. But it takes just as much time to do it this method vs pulling the engine.

Pull the engine, You'll be much happier.
