-----Question-----
I have a 1993 Deville 4.9.  My heat doesnt work i can turn it all the way up and it blows cold air on defrost it is a little warm only on the passenger side but only a LITTLE warm its still kinda cold just warmer than the drivers side.  the rear defrost works. on econ and defrost and the other setting it blows cold air all the time!!  please help me!

Check the heater hoses going to and from the heater core. One should be slightly warmer than the other when at normal operating temp.

Next, remove the glove box liner and locate a threaded metal rod. This rod should move back and forth several inches as you move your system from full heat to full ac. Does it move ?.

The fault is most likely the Ac/Heater programmer of which i can provide test procedures for you to do by e-mailing me at: onlineautohelp@msn.com

Answer
Set the system for full 90 degree heat and wait 3 minutes for the metal arm to stop moving and then mark it's position in the plastic clip that it snaps into.

remove the rod and pull it towards you which will cause the damper door to go to full heat.  If you can move the damper door more than an inch towards you and you do get full heat snap it into the plastic clip.

If you do NOT get full heat put the rod back in the snap where you marked it.

If you cannot get full heat at any time during the above the most likely cause is a restriction in the heater core.
