My Dad has a 1992 Cadillac,the heater blower or fan motor stays running after the car is shut off the only way to stop it is to un-plug the motor under the hood...

This is a very common failure. You need to replace the POWER MODULE which is what controls the fan operation.

This ac/heater fan POWER MODULE is a dealer item only and you will have to purchase it from them.

What made the power module fail is that the ac/heater fan is starting to fail and pulls to much amperage from the power module and it destroys the module and keeps the fan constantly running.

Therefore, you need to replace the:

ac/heater blower fan and the power module.
