I purchased a 93 sts but none of the gauges on the instrument panel are working nor the radio. What do you suggest?
Answer -
Digital or analog gages ?. Are you saying that the fuel, temp, charge, oil pressure and ALL the gages are inop ?.

The gauges are analog gauges including speedometer, tac & fuel. Digital guages include odometer, temp, oil, heater/ac.

Also upon further inspection the radio has been pulled and was basically just sitting in the dash. The wiring has been disconnected. Could this be a contributing factor?

Answer
ABSOLUTELY. Whoever removed the radio may have damaged some of the wiring behind the radio and or possibly blew a fuse or fuses in the fuse panel(s).

Since the radio volume is tied into the vehicles speed sensor of which is used to increase the radio volume to compensate for the radio volume due to increasing the vehicles road speed this eliminates the need to adjust the volume UP and DOWN as you speed up and slow down the vehicle while driving. If this circuit has been SHORTED this can cause serious problems with the vehicles computers which will effect all of your current problems. There is also the possibility that one of the wires that feeds the radio from the instrument cluster may have been shorted thus destroying the instrument cluster assembly.

this usually happens when someone who has NO CLUE as to what they are doing when they try and replace the original factory radio with and AFTER MARKET radio and does not understand how to raed the instructions and starts GUESSING on how to wire the new radio.

This problem needs professional disgnostics and I would NOT be surprised if your looking at a lot of money to fix the problem.

I wish there was a simple answer but this is going to be very expensive and very complex to fix.
