Cadillac: 1989 Cadillac Deville, cadillac deville, horrible sound

Question
I inherited a 1989 Deville from my grandfather, and have been driving it around now for several months. It's been working great, until last night. Now everytime I make a lefthand turn or pass over any slight rise in the road, there is a horrendous scraping noise, like something is dragging on the road. When I look under the car, there is nothing hanging down or even low to the ground at all. The "car is leveling" light, which had been coming on regularly (along with the sound of the car levelling) suddenly stopped coming on last night about the same time this started happening. I had (very hopefully) thought maybe the fuse was blown, but everything there is okay. Do you have any idea what might be causing this? Any information you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Answer
I can't think of anything that would make this kind of noise unless it could possibly be brake related as if possible that the brake pad warning clip is touching the rotor when you mae a turn as this makes a horrible sound. Check the brakes BOTH front and rear.

As far as the CAR IS LEVELING light this is most likely a fault of the HEIGHT SENSOR of which is mounted on the underside of the body of the vehicle above the rear end of which senses the height of the body from the frame. This is a very common part failure.
