..E        but what do the other codes mean? And
E49        what can I do to correct this problem ?
.E.E       And what it might cost me.
E49
.7.0

Answer -
8.8.8 = is telling you that you have entered into the
       diagnostics sequence.

..E = designates ECM history codes.

E49 = Air management system fault.

.E.E = designates current codes.

E49 = Air management system fault.

.7.0 = the END of the E codes.

By pushing various other control panel buttons AFTER the .7.0 appears you can access the BCM codes and other test sequences of which are NOT related to your problem and or will NOT provide you with any useful information pertaining to your problem.

What do you suggest i do about my problem to fix it ?
and what are BCM codes ?

Answer
As far as the E49 code you will need a diagnostics book in order to perform various tests on the air management system.

The BCM codes are aprt of your A/C-Heater system and are of no concern to your current problem.

What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a wire and or electrical connector may have been knocked loose and or left off. Check around the engine for loose wires and connectors.
