Cadillac: Left Turn Signal, left turn signal, cadillac sedan deville

Question
I have a 1992 Cadillac Sedan DeVille with a very small problem that is becoming annoying.  When I turn my left turn signal on, it works perfectly fine.  After I turn the car and straighten out the wheel, the turn signal does not shut off.  I have to shut it off manually.  However, with the right turn signal, after I straighten the wheel out, the turn signal does click off.  My question is what possibly broke inside the steering wheel and is there any possible way that I can get into the area and repair whatever broke inside?  I don't see any reason taking the car to my mechanic for this small problem unless it is very necessary.  Thank you very much.

Answer
Ir IS necessary to have a professional technician familiar with your type of vehicle to replace the turn sugnal assembly within the steering column, Due to:

1. The AIR BAG on the steering wheel requires EXPERT de-activation and disconnecting the vehicles battery will NOT de-activate the air bag system as it has a BACKUP voltage supply.

2. You require SPECIAL TOOLS to get into the steering column.
