Cadillac: 1994 DeVille wheel Bearing?, cv joint, cadillac deville

Question
Hi Tom,

I have a 1994 Cadillac Deville and it has recently started making a roaring sound that gets louder as my speed increases. It does not seem to affect anything as far as drivability, however I am assuming that the sound is my early warning that something is about to go wrong. Do you think it is a wheel bearing and how can I determine which one. Based on sound it seams like the left front.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Answer
Without actually hearing this noise a diagnosis if quite impossible. However it could be a bearing or a CV joint or take a look at the wear pattern on the tread of the tires. If you see HIGH and LOW spots evenly spaced around the tead area this will make a wheel bearing sound as well.
