ABSOLUTELY, That's why they tell you put put silicone on the threads of ALL the LONG BOLTS. personally I put it on all the bolts.

have lots of oil in coolant but not in motor,?. This makes no sense elaborate in more deatil.

autohelp dont have water like sludge on dip stick. do you know how many long bolts there is suppose to be? had friend put in water pump did not have this problem before water pump was put in ,oil inside radiator looks like sludge. water pump missing 1 screw. thank you very much for your help-'

Answer
That ONE SCREW MISSING can destroy your engine as antifreeze eats away at the bearings, Thus destroying the engine.

STOP, DO NOT drive the vehcile, Don't even START it. Drain the anti-freeze and the engine oil and install new oil and a new oil filter and FIX the leaking water pump and put the MISSING bolt back ON. Remember to put silicone on ALL the bolts.
