Chevrolet: high temp, rad cap, pressure test

Hi:
I install a new 350 in my corvette, new water pump,new belts, timming is set 10 degree rad is good electric fans
works well hose good rad 16 lbs, but my gauge show 220 at
all times, appricate your reply

Hi well you should be under 200  I would have a pressure test taken on the cooling system it will tell you if you have a leak, or if the rad cap is bad, etc.
you could take out the thermastadt if you want to, see how it gets. but it should be more around 180
