Chevrolet: Starter labor time, chevy s10 pickup truck, chevy s10 pickup

do you know how long it should take to replace a starter on a 2002 chevy S10 pickup truck. i was told it should take about one hour by some friends, but the shop told me it would take up to 2 and 1/2 hours is this true?

Well  the shop should go by the book, what the book has down for the labor time to r&r the starter that is how they charge. I changed a clutch in a 64 s/s in one hour but I bet the book has it down for 4 or more.So it depends how they time the labor.
