Chevrolet: Bellhousing whine, whine, clutch

Question
Seems as there is bellhousing whine while foot on brake,in drive. Keep foot on brake and shift to neutral, whine seems to disappear?

Answer
GREG;
It is a stick/clutch right ?if a stick it could be the pilot bearing-or throwout bearing-the fork or the disk it could be worn or in need of grease. if it is a automatic, than you might need a adj. I would recommend going to one of those tranny shops that charge you $ 24.95 for a service check up, this way you will know what it is that is doing it.
