Chevrolet: remove center console chevy cavalier, chevy cavalier, manual transmission

Our 99 cavalier (my hubby's work vehicle) is stuck in reverse - manual transmission. My husband thinks he can fix the shifter (that is definitely the problem) but he asked me to find out how to remove the center console. Can u help?

Hi  I do not know why he would wish to remove  it , but
as stated I do the 55 up to 70s cars - but there has to be some snaps than bolts that hold it down. I would check under the car also. but as far as the tranny , it will not come out of gear at all, I wonder if the clutch is bad.if he still has trouble, he can go to the library and look in the teck books it should have all of the info.
