Chevrolet: front wheel bearings, front wheel bearings, squeak

Question
Greetings fellow Racefan, I was reading this forum and noticed right away your comments about how you had replaced front wheel bearings on a cavalier at one time. Some time back I acquired a 2000 cavalier, 2.2, and is a smooth running car. As of 2 yrs ago I noticed a noise coming from the right front wheel while driving and now as of recently begun to notice a squeak, (similar to the other side), coming front the left front. Since everything is original oem, I'm thinking it could be the wheel bearings. Is that maybe your idea and if so, are they located in the hub, and how do I get to them? Any help w/ this matter I would definately appreciate. Take care and much regards, David L.

Answer
David;
Hi well it could be the brakes to. if you go to the local library you can look in the teck books and they have step by step info in them. thats the best way. yes they are in the front hubs they  are screwed into place but the race is pressed into place.there is a inner and a outter.
