what would cause thje car not to start and fill the cylinders with gas

Well it could be a few hundred things, but you must not be getting any spark, so it could be the coil or ign. wires,  or cap. and if it is putting that much fuel into the cylds. change the oil as soon as it starts up, do not run it with all that gas in the oil as it will thin out the oil and cause damage to the internal parts or it could even go BOOM. I would have it put on a OBD put on it to see what codes pop up. than it should tell you what is wrong.
