Chevrolet: 93 camaro v6 running rough, camaro v6, local car dealer

Question
I have a 93 camaro with the 3.4 engine. Recently, the right side head gasket went bad. I replaced both head gaskets. I replaced the following during the repair due to codes; IAC, MAP and ignition control module. No codes coming up at this time. The water pump and thermostat were also replaced. After everything was together, it fired right up. However, it doesn't run very well. It idles bad. When you reach driving speed above 45 mph, and you try to maintain the speed, it feels like the rear is going to drop off. There is a lot of vibration. Also, lacks power. I took it to a local shop. They told me my engine computer was bad and that it wasn't firing the injectors properly. I work for a parts company so I bought a computer. A local car dealer told me the only thing I had to do to it was take the knock sensor off the old computer and install on the new one. Then hook it up to the car. Is that true? Well, that's what I did and my car is still doing the same thing. Any ideas? Let me know if you need more info. This has been very frustrating.

Thanks

Answer
Its not your PCM or your knock sensor. Something isn't hooked up properly. Or you have a vacuum leak somewhere.

Its hard to say without seeing a scan of what your car is doing.

I wouldn't throw anymore money at it. It sounds like something was just missed unless of course you spun a bearing. Check for white sludge in your oil or coolant smell from your exhaust. Did you use thread sealer on the head bolts?

Does it surge at idle?
