Nissan Repair: 89 skyline silhouette aust., drawing power, alternator

i have just replaced the alternator and while doing up some bolts i have sparked the main rear cable of alt. to spanner. did smoke up the two wires leading to the ignition. not turning over,not drawing power when trying [according to the gauge]. any ideas what i've killed? much appreciated. jason.

Replace the master fuse/fuse links at the battery.  CHeck the alternator wire to the battery for continuity and replace or repair if shows open.  The bad part here is the alternator's direct current rectifier is probably blown due to the short and will most probably have to be replaced.  Also, check the ignition fuse and relay.
