Chevrolet: 96 Chevrolet Cavalier Coolant Light, chevrolet cavalier, temp guage

Question
Hi Roger,

I just took my 96 Chevy in for a 100,000 mile tune-up.  After flushing the cooling system, they couldn't get the temperature guage to operate properly, so coolant wasn't being circulated properly (or so they said).  They replaced the temp guage, and the fluid lvls are all fine.  However, the low coolant light is now on all the time, but temperature lvl is normal.  Any ideas behind this problem?  Thank you for your help!

Answer
Chris;
hi  well yoi might of had a lot of crud in there and it could have plugged up the temp. sensor. as far as the low coolent light I would wait a few days as it might just reset itself. and than it should be fine, if not than it must be put on a computer to see what codes come up, as the low coolent sensor might be full of crud also. but I would wait for at least 40 or 50 miles ok.
