Chevrolet: engine swap, bellhousing, cylinder engine

1991 S10 PU...wanna put a turbo V-6 in this instead of my present TBI 2.5 engine...info I gleaned so far is that my present standard 5-spd shift T-10 tranny can't handle much over a 4-cylinder engine...any engine/tranny recommendations?...certainly would apprciate any answer at all...Cecil :-)

 Hi  I would try to find a tranny that will fit the v.6 that you are going to put in. any std. tranny for it is ok as it is only a six cyld.  I would try the tranny that you have now , if it will fit , it is a 5 speed and it is going on a six so I see no reason why it should not work as long as it bolts up.  I do not know if it will bolt to the bellhousing / it is not as if you were putting it onto a
v-8  350  -  327  etc.
