Chevrolet: 93 Cavalier Coolant system, coolant system, rad cap

Question
I was recently handed down this car that was sitting for 2 years. Before it was stored, the car would overheat. 2 years later it still has the same problem,and that is after a new waterpump,thermostat,rad flush,rad cap and coolant sensor had been installed.Also the funny thing is, the gauge reads hot even when the car dosent seem to be over heating. If you have any ideas or advice they would really be appreciated.

Answer
Eric;
  Hi  well the first thing that I would do is to get a
pressure test on the system , it will show you where a leak is if you have one, and save you from looking all over it.
Have you checked the belt to see if it slips , and is the schrowd  and fan the right distance from the rad.and are the hoses in good shape , if a hose is bad it can suck itself closed and make it over heat.
