Chevrolet: 1993 Corsica 3.1 ltr. Cooling Fan, chevy corsica, 1993 chevy corsica

Question
Roger,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, the engine overheats all the time if it's driven too far (I can't let my son drive it more than a couple of miles until we solve this problem).  The cooling fan never comes one.

I was hoping it was a blown fuse, but I can't find the fuse box.  I've taken off the panel under the dashboard, but it isn't there.  It's not in the glove box... I simply can't find the darned thing.  I know that the temperature sensor is working because the temperature gauge on the dash works.  The cooling fan switch could also be the problem, but it appears to be buried way down in back of the engine under the exhaust manifold, which would make it a real challenge to get to.

Any ideas -- and the location of the fuse box -- will be greatly appreciated.

The cooling fan never starts on my son's 1993 Chevy Corsica 3.1 ltr.  I've tested the fan motor by connecting it directly to the battery, and it works.  So I figure the problem is somewhere in the wiring -- but I don't know where to look for the wires!  What's worse, I can't even find the fuse box in this car.

I'll be very grateful if you can tell me where I can find the fuse box and where I should look for potential problems in the cooling fan wiring?

What I hoped would be an educational experience for my son is turning into one for me!

Dave;
 Hi the fan comes on when the engines sensor tells it to.  does the car over heat all the time , if   it   is  not overheating and the car is running good, than the sensor is working and the fan comes on   when it needs to ,  ok

Answer
Dave;
   Im not up on that year but it should be under the dash and it could have a cover on it, if not there it is under the hood, or it could even be on the side of the dash when the door is open you can remove a panal. so if it is not at one of those 3 places Im stumped.is the booklet that came with the car in the glove box. the sending unit could be shot- if the fuse is not bad.I realy stick with 1955-75   etc. ok
