Chevrolet: compressor leaks 97 Chevy Blazer S-10, chevy blazer, stop leak

Question
Roger,
My car is a 97 Chevy Blazer. Air conditioning does not blow cold. Mechanic used dye to test for leaks. There were, I saw the liquid escaping. Bubbled a bit. Do I need to replace to entire compressor? or can the leaks be stopped? Pehaps new gaskets or a stop leak like they have for radiators? It's hot in Florida, but I have a hard time justifying the cost of replacement. Thanks,
Tali

We have a place down there also, in Ft.Pierce ,
I know it is hot I will not go there in the summer time. As far as the air cond. if there is a leak it must be fixed , If the fluid came out than you have a leak. you cant fix most leaks with A/C  you must replace the part. If the compressor is bad ,than it has to be changed- a rebuilt one might be cheeper but I would go with a new one . If you think the price is to high than ask a differnt shop to see what they get. It is not cheep .  ok
