Chevrolet: steering wheel play, center screw, steering box

 Altho you specialize only in '55's to 57's, maybe you can help me with my '54 chevy. It has alot of play in the steering. About 3 1/2 ins.  How would I ajust to correct this problem?  Your input is appreciated.

 Whats new?  A 54 chevy , well the first thing is how is the front end, are all steering parts good, as if any are bad you will have play , even if one part is bad it can cause it. If every front end part is good and tight than You might be able to tighten up on the steering box, I think that you might have a adj. nut on yours but before you do that You must be sure that all of the front end is good, if it is you get both front wheels off the ground than being carefull you will loosen the nut on the steering box and than turn the worm / the center screw in apx 1/4 turn and than try it but do not go to much as you can over tighten it and mess things up.
