Chevrolet: coolent and heat, chev cavalier, coolent

Question
I have an 1988 Chev Cavalier. When the car is running I can smell antifreeze. Is this caused by a leaking Heater core?

 Hi Chris;
         Well the smell can be from a lot of things , was it checked lately , or was any added or spilled on the motor , etc. I would check the coolent level and look for any wet spots  as it could be from a discharge of coolent when the engine was a bit hot. give it a look and if you do see a spot have it looked at as it could turn into a real costly  repair if left alone.  OK
