Chevrolet: Chevy Cavalier Steering/Tire problem, mud and snow tires, chevy cavalier

Question
We just replaced tires, struts,and shocks on 1995 cavalier a month ago. First snow this week,having trouble steering the car. It's seem to be slipping all over the road with the slightest snow cover, slush or ice patch. Not pulling just to one side both sides almost feeling like ice skating.  The car used to drive like a little tank in the snow. My husband did wreck late spring of last year, pulled into slush, over compensated and ran into a ditch with the front end. Could there be damage missed from that? Would greatly appreciate tips on what to tell/ask the mechanice to check or look for.Thank you for your time.

Answer
HI Stephanie;
        well thats not good, the first thing I would do is to have the front tires balanced ON THE CAR and a good front end alignment done , there could be a bad rim  , and what kind of tires are on the front or all around as if the tires are not good snow or mud and snow  tires that could be why. And are the brakes causing it to pull or go all over when you hit the brakes /or just driving it is all over .If not from braking than I would have the above taken care of. OK.........
