Chevrolet: 2000 Chevy Impala 3.4, chevy impala, radiator fan

Question
I have a Chevrolet 2000 Impala 3.4 and I just replace the water pump and radiator fan. The problem original was it was overheating and the fan was not working well the fan works but the car still overheats. I read somewhere that my sensor on the radiator needs to be replacing but I have no clue were that is and how to get to it. But I am not sure if something else is going on because it is making a growling sound at me too. After getting to the fan we had to release the handles that hold the engine for the safety feature and I am not sure if this caused a hole in the exhaust. Please help.

Well as far as the sensor I do not think that it would cause you to over heat, as it tells you when you are hot or cold, do you have a leak any place ? also is your rad. cap bad , or how is the thermastat , that will cause you to over heat if it is bad, and even a bad hose or even a new hose if it is sucking itself closed when running . How is the fan belt ? It could be a very simple thing , so just check each thing one at a time to see what you will find.Good Luck
