Chevrolet: oil fitter, differnt types, filter tool

i cant get my oil fitter off.

Hi John;
        Oil filter stuck , it does that some times, well did you use a wrench ? w/ a bar or a oil filter tool. it must have been put on too tight, I would get a wrench for it ,as thay make so many differnt types you should have no trouble with it, and there is the last resort with a large screwdriver to push it threw and than turn it like a wrench.
but I would only do that as a last resort,as it is real messey , just be paitent and do not get the threads messed up on the filter mount.
