Chevrolet: 98 Chevy suburban Fuel pump, chevy suburban, fuel pump

Question
I just replaced my fuel pump on this truck about two year ago. Now it has gone out again. What makes these pumps go so fast. And how can you determine that it is the fuel pump.It started acting like it didn't want to crank.But you can hear the sound that it make when telling the fuel pump to turn on. That is the only problem I have with this truck.

Answer
HI Lemar;
       When it goes it goes,like a filling in a tooth you can get one today and in a day or a mo. or year it goes,it just happens, do you change the oil and filter often, and hi r.p.m.s can add a little to it but thay just go. the sound is from it clacking when it hits the camshaft, some times the rod gets worn and it will put more wear on the fuel pump.there is a rod that hits the camshaft and than the fuel pump and if not lubbed enough it can cause it to wear faster. so changing the oil helps all around.
