Chevrolet: 96 Chevy S10 Electrical problem, chevy s10, fuse box

Question
Keith,

My apologies for not making the question more clear.  The fuse that is blowing is in the #9 spot on the fuse box, the Batt ECM fuse.  It seems to stutter when you become a little more punchy on the gas.  Any ideas?

Thank You

I have a 96 Chevy S10 with 131,000 miles on it.  The truck has had no previous problems with it.  Recently it was "skipping" during acceleration as if it wasn't getting gas.  After this happened a few times it finally quit one night.  I took it to the shop and they hooked it to the computer for a reading.  They claim it is a 20 fuse, replaced it and it seemed good again.  Later in the same day it fails again, but when you put in another fuse it seems to work.  What could be the real problem and how is this fixable so that I don't have to keep putting fuses in?  The truck still runs great overall, so I'd like to keep it.  Thank You!

Hi Jason, what is the fuse thats blowing for? Regards, Keith.

Answer
Hi Jason, sorry for the delay, there must be a short in the wire that supplies the ecm (computer) with power, when the truck is running it must touch a ground somewhere. You need a wiring diagram to trace the wire and find the short. I hope this helps you if you need more info just let me know. Regards, Keith.
